This September, NYSNA members will gather in beautiful Rye Brook, N.Y., for the association’s annual business meeting. The two-day event at the Hilton Rye Town will be devoted to discussing and deciding issues related both to the nursing profession and the Nurses Association.
Labor-related issues will be the focus at meetings of the Congress of Bargaining Unit Leaders and the Delegate Assembly on Friday, Sept. 26. Practice Focus Groups and the NYSNA Voting Body will meet on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Nurses will earn contact hours in nursing continuing education during both meeting days. A plenary session on Friday will feature Barbara Glickstein, RN, who will speak on the compelling topic of human trafficking and the nurse’s role in fighting this global atrocity. The keynote address on Saturday will be presented by Jackie Pflug, who has inspired audiences worldwide with her story of surviving an airliner hijacking in 1989.
Networking opportunities will include a reception for bargaining unit members on Thursday and a free social event for all attendees on Friday evening. The traditional Delegate Assembly brunch will be held on Friday.
The annual business meeting offers numerous sponsorship and advertising opportunities designed to fit any budget. If your business sells to nurses and healthcare decision-makers, this is a cost-effective opportunity to reach them with your unique message. Please see the prospectus contract (.pdf format; Adobe Reader required) for detailed information.
Registration information will be posted on this site and mailed to all Association members before the end of June. For now, check out this article from the May 2008 issue of New York Nurse.
