The first organizational meeting of the New York State Nurses Association – District 10 occurred on March 7, 1919. District 10, better known as the Mohawk Valley Nurses Association, encompasses Fulton, Montgomery, and Schenectady counties. The mission of District 10 is to foster high standards of nursing practice, promote the professional and educational advancement and the health and welfare of registered nurses, in order to enhance proficient care of those requiring nursing services. Members have met regularly since that first meeting to discuss nursing issues, working environment issues, and hold educational programs. Dinner meetings occur quarterly, with the Annual meeting in May. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday during March, May, September, and November.
