Board Action Report
At its August 27, 2008 meeting the board of directors:
- ratified referenda on: auditing services for the Employees’ Pension Plan and Westchester County and New York City Welfare Plans; conferral of Leadership Academy fellowships; appointments to fill vacancies on the Membership Committee and Journal Editorial Review Board; referral of bylaw amendment to Voting Body; NYSNA-PAC congressional and statewide endorsements
- revised Election Protest Procedures
- agreed to execution of ANA’s revised individual direct membership contract
- approved resolution relating to access to safe deposit box
- approved proposed 2009 – 2010 Legislative Program for presentation to 2008 Voting Body
- approved proposed order of business for 2008 Voting Body session for presentation to Voting Body
- approved 2009 Convention theme: “New Challenges and New Opportunities”
- made appointments to NYSNA councils and committees for terms beginning at the close of the 2008 Annual Business Meeting
- identified members for nomination to National Council of State Boards of Nursing Standard Setting Panel
- designated the NYSNA president as the association’s official representative at the October 4, 2008 gala celebration honoring Cathryne Welch sponsored by the Foundation of New York State Nurses
