NEW YORK NURSE: October/November 2007
An award acknowledging NYSNA as a “Health Care Reform Pioneer” was presented by the Universal Health Care Foundation (UHCF) at a reception held in Manhattan on Oct. 30. “This award recognizes the steadfast leadership of NYSNA and its officers in the fight for universal health care through adoption of a position statement, contact with public officials, testimony, and support of other reform organizations such as Rekindling Reform,” said Louis Levitt, chair of the UHCF.
The UHCF is a newly established organization focused on delivering public education about the need for quality, affordable, and accessible health care for all. President-elect Karen Ballard sits on the group’s board of directors.
