Board reviews complaints about ‘Nurses for Unity’

No disciplinary action taken

After reviewing several complaints from NYSNA members about other members’ actions during a September 2007 opinion poll, the Board of Directors determined that no disciplinary action will be taken.

The poll was designed to determine members’ opinions about a possible disaffiliation from United American Nurses (UAN), the national labor union for registered nurses. During the course of the poll, 22 NYSNA members formed a group they called “NYSNA Nurses for Unity” (NFU) and actively opposed disaffiliation.
