The 140 RNs working for Onondaga County will receive a 2.5% salary increase under a memorandum of agreement ratified by the local bargaining unit and adopted by the Onondaga County Legislature on Feb. 28. The increase is retroactive to the first full pay period of 2008. The nurses work for the county in clinics, prenatal programs, a communicable disease prevention program, two correctional facilities, and the Van Duyn Home and Hospital nursing home. This is a one-year contract effective until Dec. 31, 2008.
Twelve case managers at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica will receive a 4% pay increase effective the first pay period in January, a 3.5% increase effective in July, and a 3.5% increase effective in November 2008. These nurses joined the bargaining unit in a vote conducted by the National Labor Relations Board in February 2007.
A four-year contract with the Amityville Union Free School District was unanimously approved on March 31. The 10 nurses will receive a 3.25% salary increase for the 2007/2008 school year, retroactive to July 1, 2007. They will receive 3.25% plus increment salary increases for the 2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011 school years.
