Management/employee committees

RNs must discern if they offer real “empowerment” or are an administration ploy

Management is forming a new multi-disciplinary team at your facility and your supervisor wants you to be on it. Sounds like a good thing, right?

Be careful! Before you discuss anything, contact your NYSNA nursing representative. An employer-controlled workplace committee could undermine – intentionally or unintentionally – many of the protections provided by your NYSNA contract.
