UAN Mobilization Fund: How will it affect NYSNA?

The good news: United American Nurses (UAN), a national labor group for RNs, has established a Mobilization Fund designed to help organize RNs throughout the nation.

The bad news: NYSNA, as an affiliate of UAN, will be required to contribute another $30 per year for every collective bargaining member, starting in January 2007. Because about 32,000 members are represented by NYSNA for collective bargaining, the impact on association finances will be substantial.
