State Fair booth promotes nursing and educates public

NYSNA continued its tradition of presenting a booth at New York’s 2006 State Fair. The display, in the Science and Industry Building’s Hall of Health, was again supported through a grant from the Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future. NYSNA’s booth focused on recruitment and promotion of the nursing profession.

Staffed by members of the Central Counties Professional Nurses Association, NYSNA District 4, as well as numerous regional healthcare organizations, the booth provided fairgoers the opportunity to sign petitions urging the New York State legislature to consider legislation addressing the reduction of mandatory overtime for nurses.
