Organizing at Your Facility

NYC Union RallyThe most important thing you need to know about organizing your colleagues to join a union is that you don’t have to go it alone. NYSNA has more than 50 years of hands-on experience helping RNs organize their facilities, and we have a professional staff of skilled organizers who know how to run an organizing campaign. You can access those skills and experience simply by calling 800.724.NYRN or 518.782.9400, ext. 284 and asking to speak to an organizer. Remember, your call will be held in the strictest confidence.

E&GW enables nurses to organize, use collective bargaining to its fullest advantage, maintain contract enforcement and improve the patient care environment. Program staff maintain a partnership relationship with officers and delegates of the Council of Nursing Practitioners (CNP) and Council of Professional Practitioners (CPP). They seek to maximize the utilization of Association resources, the talents of CNPs/CPP members, and the strengthening of organized nursing in each NYSNA represented facility.

Every RN deserves the security and benefits of NYSNA membership. Organizing your colleagues to join a union takes time, patience, and determination. But it’s worth it. Joining a union gives you a voice in the decision-making process that directly affects you as an employee. Through that organized voice, you can exert considerable influence over the quality of care you are able to give your patients.
